October 29, 2012 Good morning My name is Glenda Grant and I am writing this to introduce you to our announcer Tim Drew. My family has owned and operated Ontario Demolition Derby Ltd. for approximately 25 years now and Tim has been an integral part of our show for the past 8 years. He is the face that the spectators see and the man that they all hear throughout each show. He has shown himself to be completely reliable and certainly knows how to get the crowd involved in the excitement of the race. He announces throughout the race while keeping the music flowing and he even spends time beforehand gathering any pertinent background information on the drivers. The drivers and the crowd both enjoy being introduced as they come into the ring not just as a name but maybe as the "Rookie from Renfrew who has never ran before”. We may have a show anywhere in Ontario and without exception if Tim says he will be there, he will be there, We have been involved several times with CBC and their affiliates the latest being filmed at a race for a Daily Planet segment just last month and Tim was the consummate professional while dealing with production issues as they came and not letting any of it interfere with our performance in front of the spectators. As a personal aside, every once in a while the company does a fundraiser. We have done them for local food banks, Agricultural Societies, Breast Cancer, the Lindsay Boys and Girls Club to name a few and each and every time Tim has been there on time, in character, with his equipment ready to go and is generous enough to offer up his pay cheque at the end of the day to whatever charity we may be involved with.
