Transmission service provides a complete diagnosis of your vehicle’s health. A multi-check includes a fluid check, road test, lift inspection and pan examination. During a fluid check, your transmission fluid is examined for any unusual color or odor, which may indicate a more serious problem. A road test thoroughly examines your transmission for unusual responses, including slipping, noises, grinding, late or early shift patterns, and erratic shifting.
During lift inspection, a technician will carefully check multiple systems within your transmission. These systems include the neutral switch, throttle linkage, engine RPM and modulators. The technician will also examine transmission mounts, u-joints, your transmission’s fluid retention, and electronic controls in order to fine tune any minor internal problems. Finally, a pan examination will alert technicians of any excessive metal fragments and friction materials, which may point to signs of unusual wear and tear.
