At Surface Concepts our goal is to provide you with Lighter, Stronger and Economical Stone Surfaces. We use a revolutionary new technology called Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) which is not as heavy as traditional stone yet maintains more flexural stength. Our materials are also poured rather than cut. This means we are not as limited in terms of size or shape as we would be using granite, quartz or other slab cut stones. It also means we produce very little waste and are extremely proud to say we are able to manufacture our pieces with very little impact on the environment. A slab of granite may travel the world via ocean freighters before it ends up in your kitchen whereas all of our countertops are designed and produced in our St. Albert studio.
At Surface Concepts we do not settle for 'this is a nice color'. We design with you to create perfect colors and textures that flow with the space they are intended for, meaning that every countertop we produce is truly one-of-a-kind and was designed specifically for your space and personality. Our core belief is that you do not have to settle for anything other than YOUR "perfectly beautiful". So if we haven't created it yet we will make samples until we do.
