Located in the very core and heart of Downtown Kitchener, East African Cafe is committed to providing excellent and authentic East African cuisine for all our patrons.
To our East African patrons: we understand that we are all thousands of miles away from home. And that is why we would love to treat you to a taste of the motherland, right here in Kitchener. We want to ensure that as far as food is concerned, you will not miss anything. We offer authentic East African food from the essential and ubiquitous Injera to Vegan dishes including Misir (Brsin) (Split Red Beans or Lentils) to Ater Alicha (Yellow Peas) to Hamlie (Gomen) Kale. We also provide Meat (Lamb or Beef) based dishes including Tibs-Alcha (Lamb), Tibs and Kieteffo (Lean Beef). And to our non-East African patrons, we invite you to adventure. You are always welcome to try out our Cowlow Cabbage (Tikil Gomen), House Salad, Shiro and many more. You can also drop in for our breakfast treat: Ful. Apart from the food that you'll enjoy, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine or a bottle of your favorite beer. We offer the famous Kenyan lager - Tusker beer.
