The Pet Nanny

Hi my name is Evelyn and I started The Pet Nanny in home pet sitting service in April 2004. My wonderful friend and companion Cindy who's picture appears on the home page was with me for 14 and a half years and was sadly sent on to her eternal home just a short year ago.
I found that during her last few years with me it would have been benificial to her and to me to have had someone to just be with her during the day while I was at work. We had lots of accidents in the home, just because she wasn't able to wait the 8 - 9 hours I was away working, and had she had someone to come and give her a mid afternoon potty break, she wouldn't have had the worry of me coming home and finding a puddle at the back door. She was never scolded for this because I knew that it wasn't her fault. During her last few months I was home with her due to my job ending and realized that it would have been a great help if I had had someone to take her out when I wasn't home and decided that that would be the thing to do myself and started the process of beginning my business. I have worked and lived with dogs and cats most of my life. I spent 6 years as a Board Member and 7 years as a volunteer at the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society, where I learned more about the behaviours of dogs and cats, and how to care for their many differences.
