Description
The mission of Canadian Foodgrains Bank is to end global hunger.
We do this by collecting grain and cash donations for projects submitted by our 15 member agencies and their partners. We also provide expert advice to our members and partners; manage the procurement and supply of food commodities; and engage in public policy and education activities related to hunger and food security.
The projects we support
Provide food assistance to people with immediate food needs;
Work with communities to improve food security (provide food for themselves in the longer-term) through improved agricultural techniques and livelihoods; and
Help families and communities improve their nutrition.
In addition to supporting projects in the developing world, the Foodgrains Bank works to influence public policies necessary to ending hunger, and also to deepen the engagement of Canadians in efforts to end global hunger.
The Foodgrains Bank gratefully acknowledges the support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
