Description
Friends In Trouble (F.I.T) is a community organization that provides services and support to children, youth and families.
We provide Arts based programs, such as photography, video editing, recording and graphic illustration.
Our summer/March Break camp keeps participants engaged in fun outings, sports, arts and leadership activities.
We also provide tutoring and academic support to students and parents. We support parents in understanding their roles within the education system and how to get the best education for their children.
Our after school programs provide youth with after school care, tutoring and fun activities to support their academic success.
We deliver training and workshops to agencies, business and groups in the area of youth engagement, equity, community development and business management.
Our mediation and family support programs work with families who may be experiencing difficulties with their children and in need of support/skill building activities to help create structure within the home.
Through our justice programs we provide support to youth and adults involved in the criminal justice system, We support by providing anger management, healing circles and opportunities for community service orders.
Our goal is to build the capacity of residents and to break the cycle of poverty and violence taking place in our communities.
