DIGITAL X-RAY IMAGE
A quick painless test that produces images of the structure inside your body in particular your bones.
As x-ray beams pass through your body they’re absorbed in different amounts depending on the density of the material being passed through. Dense material like bone and metal show up as white on x-rays. Fat and muscle appears as varying shades and the air in your lungs show up as black.
Digital x-rays are saved digitally on computers and can be viewed on-screen instantly. A Radiologist interprets the images and sends a report to your doctor, who then discusses the findings with you
BONE DENSITY
Is a low-dose, non-invasive x-ray procedure that is used to measure bone density and strength. It is most often used to diagnose Osteoporosis, which is a progressive disease of the bone characterized by low bone density and deterioration of bone tissue. This condition can lead to bone fragility and increased risk of fracture (specifically in the hip, wrist, and spine). Osteoporosis develops over time which is why early detection is essential.
