Scaramouche has played a vibrant part in Toronto for more than thirty years. Domestic and international reviews have been uniformly excellent but to sustain a restaurant over this span of time requires the loyal support of our guests - every day. Our guests have come to Scaramouche to celebrate their most special occasions and many have also come to view it as their second home. As a youthful 30-year old, our restaurant's focus has remained unchanged: to provide our guests with an exemplary dining experience that encompasses the best of contemporary cuisine in a convivial setting. I come here with my mother every year for my birthday. This place, as well as Le Select Bistro, are my fav places to dine on a special occasion. Despite what the other reviewer said, this restaurant is not always busy or loud. Perhaps that was just an unlucky day for him. I've always thought of this place as a food and wine haven, tucked away north of the city's core. Their fried calamari and coconut cream pie are signature dishes that I would, and often do, pay big bucks to enjoy. No one can do a coconut cream pie like Scaramouche can. And very few restaurants in the city even offer this food item. Also, they have lots of gluten-free or low-gluten foods available because they are very good at taking requests for menu alterations. They don't have overly greasy foods. This is gourmet at its finest, and I recommend that everyone at least try this place out once - especially if you're a visitor to Toronto and want to dine at the best restaurants!
