Merlot Restaurant

I recently went for lunch at Merlot with a friend and neither of us was terribly impressed. It wasn't terrible, but we both felt that they could do better. The food was un-inventive and very one dimensional. We both agreed that we've eaten more imaginative dishes at fast food joints. It was okay, but we expected more of this upscale, albeit dog-eared french bistro. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of our lunch was the cheeky waitress. I think she was trying to be funny, but she insulted my friend and made us feel that our $70 lunch wasn't quite enough to earn good service. Every request seemed to generate an eye-roll. We won't be rushing back - there are too many other good choices in town.
