Garden Trails Landscaping, is a landscaping and design company that has been doing business in Peterborough, Stoney Lake and the Kawarthas for nearly 10 years. Our office is located North of Peterborough, just off of Fifes Bay Road.
Garden Trails is owned and operated by Steven Carpenter. Steve has been involved in the landscaping business for 18 years. The best method of completing an installation depends on the given soil conditions found upon the excavation of the site. For example, Before installing the base for a patio, if gravel or sand is found to be already present, minimal base would be necessary. However if clay or excessive overburden were found, a deeper excavation, clear stone aggregate, and drainage tile would have to be implemented to drain the water. Being honest and not hiding inconvenient truths to save time and money, is why we get most of our business from referrals. Past customers know that our installations are beautiful and last. Hiring under-qualified landscapers, or trying to do the job yourself can lead to extremely costly problems two or three years down the road. Problems like patios and walkways shifting, plant material growing out of control, and fences that are falling over are what many people are likely to find if an inexperienced installer performs the work. I take pride in my work and get great satisfaction from meeting or exceeding the expectations of my clientel. I consider myself to be extremely flexible and resourceful in all aspects of landscaping. From being able to operate numerous pieces of heavy equipment, to having a good eye and artistic ability to ensure that my landscapes will always be esthetically pleasing. I am capable of working with a wide array of materials including, brick, rock, wood, metal, and aggregate materals. I am confident in relaying ideas where my knowledge and qualifications are high. Where my experience is limited I am not afraid to admit that I need to do some research on or recommend another contractor to do something that I might not be equipped to do. I have learned over the years that it does not pay to mislead anyone about your capabilities, or take on a job that you are not comfortable doing.
