Stay far away!!! Extremely dishonest business. They ruined our baptism dress that cost us $132usd. We trusted then thinking they knew what they were doing.
June 15 we took the dress to the cleaners
June 16 went to pick it up, paid $15.64 Nobody mentioned anything about the ruined dress, hangers had stretched the shoulders to the limit, I guess in their attempt to hide that it had been shrunk. It was completely wrinkled and shrunk, when I asked what happened, nobody could answer for it, told us that " the owner will call you" which he never did, I refused to take the dress, it was totally ruined, I explained the cost and the sentimental value, no apologies, no regrets.
June 18 took 8x10 photographs of the dress taken during the Baptism a few days earlier.
They said again "the owner will call you" never did.
I wrote to the store where I bought it and asked for copy of my receipt, they sent it as soon as they could,
June 22 took copy of the receipt $139.05 USD
June 26 went with my daughter, I felt they paid no attention to my concerns. My daughter talked to the manager, we where told that they where going to send it for an assessment. He would call us. I explained that there are a hundred of this dresses sold everyday and I talked to people there, never anything like this has happened before.
First time that they finally accepted that it had shrunk and it was damaged.
July 3 (friday) visited the shop again at 8:45 am before going to work, same man (I assume is the manager) same story, I will let the owner know "he will call you", never did.
Saturday July 4, my daughter said, call them they are open today, I phoned and I told them that I have been patient enough, and that I was giving them up to Tuesday July 7, to have my cheque for $139.05 US or 175.12 Cdn (1.25 exchange)
They totally ignored me, I went in and gave the "manager" this morning my business card, with my phone number again. He said "the owner will call you".
At 2:30 pm I phoned, a very rude girl 'Brittany' treated extremely rudely, cold and said it wasn't her problem. At 3:40 pm the same "manager " called me
he told me that I had 2 options:
1- send this dress to Toronto ( which he supposedly was supposed to have had sent on June 26 and I will have to wait for at least 3 week for the answer or
2- Come an pick up your dress!!!
I said, all ruined, he said "yes, he can not be responsible for the dresses that are ruined or he would not have a business". Great business, no?
We have being misled, badly treated, because we thought we where taking a beautiful dress to a professional. Also, the counter staff they have there are a true reflection of the shoddy, shady low quality of this business. Stay away. We'll be letting everyone know so they don't have the same experience. Businesses who are honest, earn repeat clients, those who cower from their clients, still haven't learned that bad word of mouth spreads faster.
