Description

This family business has served Stratford since 1970 and is one of longest existing restaurants in the area. Established by Larry and Rae Gene at its original location on Erie Street with 35 seats, Gene's Restaurant moved to the present 81 Ontario Street location in 1975.
As well as known for it's "Classic" Chop Suey-Chicken Ball style of Chinese food, the restaurant offers Cantonese, Szechuan, and "Canadian" cuisine. Thank you to the residents of Stratford for your patronage and to the visitors, please enjoy our beautiful city and downtown area.

The food at Gene's is wonderful. It is by far the best Chinese food restaurant in Stratford. The food is always fresh, hot, and very tasty. You can tell it was made just for you and has not been sitting in a heater in the back like other Chinese restaurants. The food is full of flavour. When ordering for take out, they are prompt and quick. The prices are excellent.
