Description
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy enables us to view hidden psychological dynamics of our past and heal them to empower our present and future. Unresolved events of the past can hold us prisoner to our thoughts and emotions, which may distort our image of a current situation. Often we repeat patterns and we do not understand why we keep making the same mistakes when we know they are creating havoc in our lives. Usually it stems from a past that has not yet been worked through.
Psychotherapy can help you with:
•Panic and Anxiety, depression, Divorce/Separation, Childhood issues, Fear, Shame, Gender/Sexuality Confusion, Physical, Sexual and Emotional Abuse, Communication, Self-esteem, General Counselling, Dreams.
How does Psychotherapy work?
The Psychotherapist and the client work together to support the development of communication and awareness. The Psychotherapist provides a safe environment for the client to share any issues that may be coming up as well as assisting the client in learning how to respond rather than react.
Heidi Prosserman is a client-centered compassionate therapist who uses a gentle approach when assisting clients. Heidi has her H.B.A. in Sociology and Communications and is a certified Psychotherapist, accredited through the Canadian Examining Board with the designation, R.I.H.R. as well as being a certified member of CHTA, OACCPP and CAPT.
Heidi has worked with Victim Services with Toronto Police since 2009, assisting victims in crises by responding to the needs of individuals, families and communities affected by crime and sudden tragedies.
