Maurices Canada Stores

My first experience with this store gets a 0 out of 10, very poor. I had received a birthday gift from my daughter which was a blouse and a $50 gift certificate. The blouse was slightly tight so I brought it back with gift certificate to exchange for larger and buy matching pants with certificate. The sales clerk looked for larger but couldn't find. At that point she started asking for sales receipt, daughter probably bought across the river, ect ect. Why did she not understand that it was a birthday present. Who gives sales receipt with birthday present? Why would daughter buy blouse across the river and then come back to their store and get gift card. This continued on for awhile. Finally, other lady come from the back and I asked can I exchange it for another. Response from her was "it is only worth about $8.00. The salesgirl piped in that it was old and she remembered it from last year. Don't know how all of a sudden her memory picked up. I asked to cash in certificate with refusal to do so.
