Dr. Hekkenberg performed surgery on my Thyroid yesterday after having a thorough consultation where he took considerable time to explain the procedure, the reason and need for the surgery and diagramed the actual steps he would be taking with risks explained clearly. Dr. Hekkenberg is very personable, knowledgeable and genuine. An excellent surgeon that truly cares about you as his patient. The team at RVH were exceptional from the checkin staff , the OR team and to the recovery team. I highly recommend him and feel blessed to have had him perform my surgery.
