A response to Leon Dapeon's review. I'm going to assume you moved into a new construction home through a builder. Just on a common sense note, in these situations, plumbers are hired by home builders, so although a plumber on a service situation, would likely install a water softener and give plenty of room in between, they are only able to do that if the home builder has asked for that specifically. They can't install how they would chose to, if that's not what the home owner has approved. Also, plumbers not always supply the water heaters when building a multitude of homes, once again,in new construction it's not in the control of one trade, rather than the builder having control & hiring out certain trades for whatever they feel best. Re-read your code book and also find out who is responsible for the issues you have instead of blaming whoever comes to mind first. I have had Bill Bell Plumbing doing my service calls for years and never had a single issue, great products and even better service!
