Hello,
I'm Rami, I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I provide a compassionate and safe space for clients who are experiencing difficulties related to mental health issues, relationships with others and those who are looking for a deeper understanding of themselves. I help clients express their feelings, explore their thoughts, establish their therapy goals and help them achieve these goals and reach where they want to be. I have 12 years of experience in counselling and psychotherapy helping children, adolescents and adults overcome issues related to depression, anxiety disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder/trauma, self-esteem, grief, substance use/addiction, relationship difficulties and issues related to sexual and gender identities. I also work with individuals who struggle with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) including adults. As a therapist with extensive international experience, I understand the challenges associated with relocation, transitions and adjustment. I help individuals and families as they move to a new country, start a new job, or separate and go through transitions and changes in their lives. I am an integrative therapist and I draw on multiple psychotherapeutic approaches and techniques when helping my clients. I believe that every person is unique and there is no one approach that fits all. As a result, I employ strategies based in various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Supportive Counselling. As a gay man, I know the difficulties and stressors that one can experience due to their non-heteronormative gender and/or sexual identity.
