Description
Deborah grew up in Calgary, and moved to BC in her early 20's to pursue her dream of attaining her masters at UBC. Since that time, Deborah has co-developed and facilitated programs, workshops, and groups for child/youth, camps and retreats, parenting education, bullying, spiritual growth, relapse prevention, and brain injury.
Deborah provides short and long term counselling to individuals and families and youth who need help with issues around behaviour, learning, mental health, trauma, and relationships.
She helps clients discuss and understand their life experiences and consequently, themselves. This helps to facilitate a resolution of the psychological consequences of current and past isues - doing this work leads to true and lasting healing.
Deborah completed her Master of Arts in Psychology (Behavioural Neuropsychology) at the University of British Columbia, during which she held a fellowship with IMPART that involved extensive training and research regarding the intersection of violence/abuse with mental health/illness and addictions.
Deborah has a Diploma in Applied Psychology & Counselling from Kelowna College of Professional Counselling and is a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (#4470). She is supervised by Tony Martens of Martens and Associates.
