Description
It takes courage to take the first steps towards getting help, I want you to know that it does get easier. I can support you to discover your strengths and help you make the changes you need to get on the road to feeling whole. You understand your situation best, which means you also hold a solution to the challenges you currently face. That doesn't mean it is easy, you might feel so overwhelmed that you may be unable to see any way to get out of your difficult situation. This is where counselling can help.
I have over five years experience practicing as a counsellor. Previously, I have worked for an Employee Assistance Program providing counselling and training counsellors in their network. I completed a Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto in 2008 and have been a Registered Social Worker since then.
Some of the reasons people see me for counselling include:
- Anxiety
- Stress (at home, at work)
- Depression
- Past traumas
- Parenting challenges
- Relationship difficulties (with romantic partners, with friends, with family members)
If you think you could benefit from psychotherapy, I would be happy to discuss your goals and how I can assist you.
Some of the counselling styles I use are:
- Attachment-based
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness Meditation
- Narrative
- Psychodynamic
- Solution-Focused
