At some point in our lives, many of us may find ourselves at a similar crossroad. It can be unsettling to have more questions than answers, more conflict than clarity. Whatever stress, confusion, stuck pattern, emotional distress, or crisis brings you to question things at this point in your life, psychotherapy offers the possibility to explore your dissatisfactions and difficulties in new ways. The rapport between you and a therapist is an important component of a positive therapeutic experience. It is this unique relationship, that offers the foundation for potential healing, growth and change. I believe in the value of listening closely to the particular story of each individual client or couple and how it comes to be expressed. Experience has shown me that our early life experiences and old wounds often influence how we see ourselves and feel in our relationships today. Making connections between then and now, allows for fresh insights and often uncovers hidden strengths and abilities. Thoughtful conversation and supportive feedback from a therapist can help us feel meaningfully understood and find the confidence to make changes that are right for us. Beyond my professional training, I am committed to ongoing learning and personal development, but it is the experience of being with my clients at important crossroads that has most deeply influenced my approach to this work. Like many of my colleagues at the Spadina Therapy Centre, I come from a diverse background, which for me includes professional dance, public relations and business, which gives me a broad perspective and an appreciation of varied life stories and experiences.
