Courtney received her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Western Ontario. She is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Apart from her education, which also includes an Honour’s Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Courtney has a wide array of direct counselling experience. During the course of her training and career, Courtney has provided treatment services in a range of hospital, university counselling centres, and community settings including the Western University Student Development Centre, The University of Toronto Scarborough Campus Health and Wellness Centre and Southlake Regional Health Centre. Working with clients from diverse backgrounds, Courtney provides professional and confidential counselling to address a number of issues such as anxiety, stress, fear, depression, lack of self- esteem and self-confidence, grief or loss, and relationship difficulties. Courtney has a particular specialization in the treatment of eating disorders and has extensive training and experience in this area. She currently splits her time between her private practice and the Young Adult Eating Disorders Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre, where she was part of the team that developed this innovative program and where she has worked since the program’s inception in 2012. Courtney is also a regular group facilitator at Sheena’s Place, an Eating Disorder Resource and Support Centre here in Toronto. She has developed and facilitated groups on a range of topics including Body Image, Motivation Enhancement and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
