Helping the Birthing Family Experience the Hidden Joys of Birth For many expectant parents, the thought of having a child can be overwhelming, as well as exciting. Many people wonder if there is help available to them during pregnancy and birth. I am excited to tell you that yes help is available by trained, comforting, gentle and compassionate people called Doulas. A Birth Doula is an invaluable part of your upcoming birthing experience. As a Doula, I am trained to help you better understand and cope with the processes that you as a mother and father will go through before, during and after the birth of your baby. The role of a Doula is to be a continuous emotional, mental and physical support during labour and birth. We are NOT medical personal and therefore do not practice medicine, administer medications or give advise on medical procedures. Our role in your birthing experience is to help motivate, educate, and encourage you to be an informed advocate. Also we meet with you 1-3 times prenatally to help prepare you. During labour we stay with you from active labour right through the birth. Providing relaxation techniques, massage and movement. I have been practicing as a Doula since 2008 and have received my certification through DONA International in 2010. CD(DONA) My doula services include: 1-3 prenatal visits Certified professional one to one coaching during labour Relaxation options and techniques Supporting parents during delivery, up until a few hours after birth. 1 Postnatal visit to ensure mom and baby are doing well. I will be booking clients due July, Oct. Nov, Dec 2011 and Jan, Feb of 2012. My fees are very resonable at $600.00 per birth. I look forward to hearing from you!
