Alex's Antique Clocks Watch Repair & Restoration

This man is a crook!!!! I took four fairly inexpensive watches (2 Fossils, 1 Nixon and a Heineken novelty watch) to get new batteries put in. The Heineken also needed a new metal buckle on the plastic strap. I took them in on a Friday afternoon and he asked me to write down my name and number on a post-it. He said he would call me Monday. I never received a call from him. The next Monday I followed up with him on the phone. He said my watches were ready and I could come in and collect them. Once at the shop I had him add one link (which I provided) to one of the Fossil's and one link (again which I provided) to the Nixon. He tried to charge me $200 for the batteries, parts and labor saying it was very difficult and dangerous to work on one of the fossil watches in particular. I talked him down to $170 but am still completely disgusted!! I should have been a more active consumer and gotten an estimate from him but his English is so poor it was hard to communicate beyond basics. My advice stay away!
